Maestro Andrés Batista has a wide art career as a performer and accompanist of some great flamenco dancing names like Carmen Amaya, Antonio 'El Farruco', Vicente Escudero, María Márquez, Ana Mercedes and Antonio Español, 'La Singla'… In flamenco dancing he has collaborated with Fernando 'El Terremoto', Antonio 'El Chocolate', Roque 'Jarrito', José Salazar, Juan Cantero and other flamenco artists.
Some of the awards he has received are the National Guitar Prize, the Medal of Honour in the World Folk Festival held in Italy, the Golden Disc of Radio Madrid and the Prize to the Best Performer in the German Radio-Television International Contest held in Frankfurt.
He began recording about 40 years ago or so. I've had his early LPs in my own collection for over 25 years. These reprinted edtions were released well before 1990. I have done e mail correspondence with this artist. Randy Osborne, May 6, 2011.
