Eduardo Sainz de la Maza was born in Burgos, Spain in 1903 & died in Barcelona in 1982. He is the younger brother of Regino Sainz de la Maza. They both studied with Daniel Fortea, a student of Francisco Tarrega, but it was Eduardo who studied with Miguel Llobet. Eduardo concertized until the end of the 1950's and thereafter dedicated himself to composition and teaching.
