South American Guitar Solos

South American Guitar Solos by Vincent Michael Book & CD $17.95

Through the centuries, South American music has developed from a combination of influences of many different cultures. Much of the traditional music has developed outside the cities, being passed from generation to generation by ear, and rarely found in written form. This collection of intermediate to advanced fingerstyle guitar interpretations reflect the author's adaptations of this traditional music from Argentina, Ecuador, and Paraguay, in a style which he describes as "a crossover between classic and flamenco." The solos are uniquely folkloric and employ techniques developed in the interior regions of Argentina and Ecuador, which are explained in the text. The pieces use standard tuning with a few exceptions. The accompanying CD presents performances of all of the pieces by the author.

The selection are:

Introduction
Usted y yo (zamba)
Pajara azul (galoppa)
El cuando (danza norteña rraditionale)
Ronda ecuatoriano (pasillo)
Pasillo ecuatoriano
Qué pasa, chica? (milonga)
Vidala de amor (danze norteña)
Festejos (carnavalito)
