Carmen (La de Triana)

The only live performance on film of Ramon Montoya, from 1937 in Florian Rey's "Carmen (la de Triana)". Stills of Ramon, his nephew Carlos & Imperio Argentina cantante/ bailadora/ actriz. The 5 second closeup of Ramon is from a Solea and returns to dialogue with the marvelous playing to continue. The story dates from 1865 and is reflected in the costumes of the times. Ramon is playing a Domingo Esteso flamenco guitar model, the same as used in "Cafe de Chinitas" by Niño Ricardo.
