Este libro en Español es una obra muy maravillosa. Hace mas que 40 años Richard “Rico” Stover empiezio su estudio sobre la vida de nuestro querido maestro, Agustin Barrios Mangoré. Rico tomo dos años a escribir su obra original y un año mas a escribir este version nuevo de su libro. El libro nuevo contiene sobre 200 paginas de fotos (por lo menos 140+ fotos nuevas) y ilustraciones del artista, 100 programas de conciertos, etiquetas de discos de pasta (desde 1914-1943), guitarras usadas por Agustin, apendices nuevas- sobre "La guitarra en Paraguay", "Segovia y Barrios", "Mito y Realidad" sobre el maestro, y una indice de 26 paginas. En la actualidad este libro es una edicion de 4,000 copias. Es un diamante entre todos los libros sobre la musica. Por lo menos hay 8 paginas de fotos raras de mi libro "Apuntes para la Historia de la Guitarra Clasica en La Argentina 1822-2000", escrito con Héctor Garcia Martinez de Buenos Aires.
This book in Spanish is a marvelous work. More than 40 years ago Richard “Rico” Stover began his study of the life of our beloved maestro Agustin Barrios. Rico took 2 years to write this book and another year to rewrite this new version. The book contains over 200 pages of photos of the artist (not less than 140+ new photos), concert programs, 78 RPM labels from 1914-1943, guitars used by Agustin, and new appendixes "The Guitar in Paraguay", "Segovia and Barrios", "Myth and Reality", and an index of 26 pages, etc. At the present time it is an edition of 2,500 copies. It is a diamond or gem among books about music. The English edition will be available in the fall of 2010. There are 8 pages of rare photos from my book, "Annotations for the History of the Classical Guitar in Argentina 1822-2000", written along with Héctor Garcia Martinez of Buenos Aires.
